Willa Janette Stephens, age 85, of Portland, passed away on May 25th, 2021 at Signature Healthcare in Portland, TN. She was born in Portland, TN on Feb. 11th, 1936 to the late Clifton Gourley & Claudia Link Gourley.
Mrs. Stephens attended Sumner County High School and graduated Class of 1954. After school, she served as secretary for First Baptist Church in Gallatin for 50 remarkable years. Also, she was a lifetime member of Hollis Chapel General Baptist Church.
Janette is survived by her husband, Charles Stephens, of nearly 60 years; two children, Glenda Stephens of Nashville and Robert (Sherry) Stephens of Portland; three grandchildren, Rachel (Sean) Kavanagh of Leesburg, VA, Trent (Allison) Stephens of Portland, & Tyler (Brooke) Stephens of Portland, TN; four great-grandchildren, Clare & Audrey Kavanagh, Knox & Maelee Stephens.
Funeral service for Mrs. Stephens will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 28th, 2021 at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Trent Stephens officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Stephens will be on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm & on Friday, May 28th, 2021 from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm (service time) at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Hollis Chapel General Baptist Church-1344 Brandy Hollow Road, Portland, TN 37148.
Interment will be in Old Brush Cemetery in Portland, TN.
