Mrs. Martha May Burton of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, she was 83 years old.

Mrs. Burton was born December 8, 1938 in Nashville to the late Fred Sommers and Mabel Coleman Sommers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Travis Burton; and daughter, Catherine Burton.

She is survived by sons, John Burton (Anita) of Hartsville and Andy Burton (Pat) of Gallatin; daughter, Becky Conner (Chris) of Gallatin; brother, Charles Sommers (Kim) of Crossville; sisters, Susan Henson (Bobby) of Goodlettsville and Sarah Jane Burton of Portland; 8 grandchildren, Matt Gammons (Helga), Andy Gammons (Jodi), Melissa Burton, Aaron Burton, David Mitchell Hutcheson, Wesley Hutcheson (Kelly), Shannan Hutcheson, and Blake Hunter (Savanna); and 11 great-grandchildren, Emma Gammons, Luke Gammons, Wesley Gammons, Dylan Gammons, Samson Hutcheson, Avery Hutcheson, Elin Pendergrass, Abby Pendergrass, Rylan Raper, Oakleigh Raper, and Bristol Hunter.

Mrs. Burton retired from Industrial Battery after over 15 years of service. In addition, she worked for First American Bank in Nashville, Commerce Union Bank in Nashville, and as bookkeeper for her family-owned business, Gallatin Lawn Mower Service.

Funeral Service will be Monday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Andy Burton and Bro. Robby Kirkham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18th from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Monday, September 19th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Halltown Cemetery, with Billy Burton, Mitchell Horton, Matt Gammons, Andy Gammons, Blake Hunter, Charlie Guthrie, Lexton Sutton, and Jeff Hunter serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scottsville Church of the Nazarene, 603 Franklin Road, Scottsville, KY 42164.
