Mrs. Connie Mae Welch Cooper, age 87 of Hendersonville, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas James Cooper, Sr.; daughters, Susan (Jeffrey) McGranahan, and Cherri (Troy) Harris; three grandchildren, Allyssa McGranahan, Sydnee Harris, and Alex Harris; brother, Dr. Wm. Melvin (Joyce) Welch; sisters-in-law, Glenda Simmons, Peggy (Charles) Matthews and Diana Cooper; and nieces and nephews, Tim Welch (Angela), Todd Welch (Rebecca), Lisa Pye (Lonnie), and David Erickson (Elaine) that she loved like her own children.
Preceded in death by her parents, Rev. W.B. and Lonnie Welch; son, Thomas “Tommy” J. Cooper, Jr.; grandson, Ian Alexander McGranahan; brother, Harry L. “Buddy” Welch and sister, Joy King.
Connie was retired from JCPenney, but her true calling was loving and caring for her family. Connie’s servant heart was exhibited by always putting the needs of others first before her own.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at Trevecca Community Church located at 335 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, TN 37210 on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will occur prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tommy Cooper Jr. Memorial Scholarship at Trevecca Nazarene University (Trevecca.edu).
