Sumner County Schools’ Out-of-Zone Lottery Now Open

Sumner County Schools’ lottery for out-of-zone applications for Liberty Creek High School, Westmoreland High School and Westmoreland Middle School is now open.

Sumner County families may now apply to attend the following schools out-of-zone:

Number of seats available per school/grade are listed below:

Liberty Creek High School Grade 9: 50

Liberty Creek High School Grade 10: 10

Liberty Creek High School Grade 11: 10

Liberty Creek High School Grade 12: 10

Westmoreland Middle School Grade 6: 25

Westmoreland High School Grade 9: 25

TO NOTE: The application window closes on February 5th, 2023.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of published spaces available, a lottery by a third-party vendor will randomly select the students. Students selected will be directly notified of the results by February 7th, 2023.

*A recent change in state law requires Sumner County Schools to publish spots and allow out of zone requests, if there is capacity. Currently, the schools mentioned above are the only schools accepting out of zones. You must be a Sumner County resident to apply and will have to show proof of residency.
