William “Bill” Edward Carpenter Jr., age 66, of Portland, passed away on August 22nd, 2022 at his residence in Portland.

Mr. Carpenter was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 2nd, 1955 to the late William Edward Carpenter Sr. & late Jewell Christine Thompson-Carpenter.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carpenter; two daughters, Carly (Andre) Jones of Portland & Casey Carpenter of Murfreesboro; three granddaughters, Dakotah (Tyler) Harvey of Portland, Jayli Hendershot of Portland, & Aaliyah Jones of Portland; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Knox, & Neyland; two sisters, Nancy (Shadden) Johnson of Portland & Betty Jo (Mike) Kakassy of Brentwood.

Bill’s greatest pastime was spending time with family. He was a loving man of God, Daddy, Brother, Dayow and Friend. Bill was a faithful member of Generation Church. He enjoyed time out in his shop fixing anything broken.

He served 3 years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He retired from US Smokeless Tobacco in 2012 where he was an Industrial Electrician. His greatest accomplishment in life was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life for Mr. Carpenter at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 25th, 2022 at Generation Church with Pastor Brandon Petty & Bro. Roger Gosnell officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Carpenter will be on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home & on Thursday, August 25th, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm (Service Time) at Generation Church. https://www.wilkinsonwiseman.com

Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Portland, TN with Military Honors.

Andre Jones, Tyler Harvey, Mike Kakassy, Chase Sneed, Jerry Long, Daniel Schmidt, & Sam Schmidt will serve as pallbearers.

Bobby Thornton & Knox Harvey will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
