Larry Duncan McClanahan, age 83, of Gallatin, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021.
He was born on July 30, 1938, to the late, Ernest McClanahan and Anne McClanahan Hodges. He was a graduate of Gallatin High and graduated from Tennessee Tech University with his master’s degree in civil engineering. Larry was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, Sons of the American Revolution, and several other organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Marquess McClanahan; son, Michael (Jennifer) McClanahan; daughters, Marta McClanahan, Meridith (Jason) Stephens; grandchildren: Cody McClanahan, Tyler Beene, Manuel McClanahan, Haley McClanahan, Lexy McClanahan, Paige Stinson, Jack Dyer, Maddie Dyer, and Anne Claire Dyer; mother-in-law, Edith Fischer-Hardy; and sister-in-law, Donna McClanahan.
Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Richard McClanahan, and grandson, Jordan McClanahan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hendersonville First Baptist Church on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11 A.M. with visitation with family and friends two hours prior to service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hendersonville First Baptist Church Mission Program or the Sons of the American Revolution.
