4Sumner County History Hunt

Now through June 30

To celebrate America’s 250th birthday this summer, Visit Sumner is hosting a special scavenger hunt that will take you through many of the area’s amazing historic sites and landmarks. Each historic site has its own unique story and many of the sites offer tours and other information. This hunt will be open and free to everyone who wishes to participate between April 10th at 12pm CST and June 30th at 11:59 pm CST.

Participants who earn enough points will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win some incredible prizes. Prize winners will be announced on July 8th at a special event to celebrate America’s 250th year.

To start your adventure through Historic Sumner County, all you have to do is download the free Scavify app on your smart phone by clicking this link, sign up for a free account so you can be contacted if you are a prize winner, search for Sumner County History Hunt and join to begin!

How it works:
Once you’ve opened the Scavify app and started your hunt, you’ll be able to see a series of different tasks to be completed. Each task is worth ONE point. Each Historic location has THREE tasks available to complete.

Task 1: Check-in at your location

Once you’ve arrived at the address of your location provided to you in Scavify, you will be able to ‘check-in’ using the app. Once completed, you’ll automatically earn your first point!

NOTE: Some Historic Sites may only be open for tours and events a few days a month, but you can still complete all of your tasks on any day by ‘checking in’ while outside the location

Task 2: Take a photo!

Use your app to take and upload a photo taken at the historic site. Some photos require you to follow special instructions, so make sure you’re taking photos of the right site or landmark!

Task 3: Answer a question

Each historic site is packed full of stories and interesting facts. Some questions are more difficult than others, but all answers can be found at the site or with a little bit of research! Don’t be afraid to talk to any of the wonderful staff at any of the sites, as they’ll be more than happy to help you find the answers you seek!

NOTE: Most locations have informational signs in front of them to help you answer questions!

How many points do I need?
There will be two separate drawings taking place on July 8th. The first drawing will be for everyone who reaches at least 31 points. The prize for this first random drawing will be a $500 Visa gift card to use anywhere Visa is accepted.

The second drawing will be for everyone who is able to complete the scavenger hunt and earn 45 points! The prize for this random drawing will be tickets and a two-night stay for up to four people at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN & a $500 dollar Visa gift card! Each person that completes the scavenger hunt will also get a free commemorative T-shirt to show off all of their hard work.

Questions?
If you have any questions or issues with the hunt, please e-mail info@visitsumnertn.com or give us a call at 615-230-8474 and we’ll be happy to help you on your journey!
