Blasting operations will continue as part of the Interstate 65 Phase 3 widening and improvement project in Davidson and Sumner counties next week.
Starting Monday, June 29, contractors will begin blasting on the north side “bottom bench” of the project area. Once drilling is underway there, blasting will alternate between the north side and the south side “top bench,” where blasting has already been taking place.
Blasts are only allowed on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with just one blast scheduled per day. A rolling roadblock will also be in place on I-65 in both directions near mile markers 96 through 99 during blasting operations.
