Sumner Regional Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2024

Sumner Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is ringing in New Year with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz., Adalyn was born to Aaliyah and Timothy on Monday, Jan. 1 at 8:51 a.m.

Aaliyah said this is her first child and was excited to have a New Year baby. She said her nurses were so caring and made her stay comfortable.

The Women’s Center at Sumner Regional Medical Center provides high-quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. The women’s services center is certified by The Joint Commission in Advanced Perinatal care, is a depot for breastmilk donation, has a community inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding program staffed by an internationally board-certified lactation consultant, and has a placental donor program.

Tours of the facility and childbirth classes are offered on a regular basis.

Dr. John Trussell of Gallatin Women’s Center delivered Baby Adalyn on New Year’s Day.

“We have an extraordinary team of clinical and support staff who are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for mothers and their babies on New Year’s Day and year-round,” he said. “One of our greatest privileges is helping our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a healthy, positive and memorable way.”
