Beech High School Choral Director, Lucy Alegria, made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City this past weekend.

Alegria performed with members of the Nashville Symphony Chorus and sang the “Bluegrass Mass” by Carol Barnet. Sumner County Schools says Mrs. Alegria goes above and beyond for her students and says she is excited to show them the amazing opportunities students can continue to achieve if they keep singing!

Mrs. Alegria was back in her classroom Tuesday morning sharing her experiences.

“Mrs. Alegria has not only graced the stage of Carnegie Hall but also exemplified the possibilities that arise when students continue to pursue their passion,” Beech High School Principal, Kenny Powell said. “Beech High School could not be prouder of Mrs. Alegria for not only reaching Carnegie Hall but also for inspiring a symphony of dreams within her students. She truly embodies the spirit of excellence in education.”
