A Sumner County School bus was involved in an accident on Thursday morning.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash in the area of New Deal Potts Road and College Street in Portland, according to Sumner County EMS. The bus was en route to Gateview Elementary when the crash occurred around 7 a.m.
Students were on the bus at the time of the crash but thankfully no injuries were reported.
Sumner County EMS stated this was a minor incident that had the potential of being a very large mass casualty incident.
The children were transferred to another bus and safely arrived at Gateview Elementary.
