According to the Portland Police Department, officers responded July 17 after the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system identified a vehicle whose registered owner had active arrest warrants.

Officers located the vehicle, confirmed the information through law enforcement databases, and identified the driver as Anthony Walker.

Police said Walker was wanted in Rutherford County on seven warrants for sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means.

Walker was arrested without incident and taken to the Sumner County Jail, where he is being held pending transfer to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Portland Police Department said the arrest highlights the role the city’s ALPR system plays in helping officers locate wanted individuals and enhance public safety.

Walker is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
