William ‘Billy’ Michael Cothern, age 74, born in Nashville TN to the late Will T and Martha Sue Cothern, went home to the Lord Sunday, March 27.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela; sons Michael and Brian Cothern; honorary grandchildren Jessica and Jordan Wilson; sister Sue Ann (Donnie) Hamilton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. He pursued a career in education, teaching history in Nashville public schools. He was a longtime member of the Hendersonville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school and was passionate about serving God and sharing his knowledge of the Bible. Billy will be remembered as easygoing and quick-witted, always finding humor in everything. He loved interacting with people and never met a stranger.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home on April 3 at 2:00 pm with a memorial service at 4:00 pm. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
