Theodore “Ted” Ray Howes of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, he was 83 years old.

Ted was born December 25, 1938 in Nashville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Ralph Howes and Elizabeth Rebecca Grimm Howes; brothers, Robert Howes, George Howes and Harry Howes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Moorefield Howes; daughters, Rhea White, Rachel Shelton and Greta Blair (John David); grandchildren, Jake White, Justin White and Hannah Shelton; brother, Charles Howes and sister, Betty Bennett (Kevin).

Ted was a 1956 graduate of Gallatin High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Ted was a member of First Baptist Gallatin where he served as a greeter for many years, kept attendance records and was a money counter. Also, he was a member of Nashville Rotary Club and Gallatin Kiwanis Club.

Ted loved to travel and planning travel events. He was a pilot and loved flying. Ted enjoyed tennis, yard work and was known to have a sweet tooth. The number #1 love for Ted was his family.

Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Billy Moorefield and Rev. Mike Corbin officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service.
