Pauline Chisesi (Castronovo), age 88 of Hendersonville, Tennessee and formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023.

Pauline was born on February 26, 1935 in Chicago to the late Peter and Florence (Sineni) Castronovo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Ryndha, Genevieve Kale, and Margaret Schultz.

She is survived by her daughters, Irene Zacharko (David Zacharko) and Renee Appelt (David Appelt); granddaughters, Kayleigh and Erica Zacharko; sisters, Mary Castronovo and Diane Daeumer; step-daughter, Caren Chisesi; step-son, Kenneth Chisesi; and step-granddaughters, Rebecca and Victoria Appelt.

Pauline was born, raised and lived almost her entire life in the city of Chicago, Illinois. She loved to dance when she was younger and had a million dollar smile that she would use when she needed to, was an avid bingo player, loved to play Wii Bowl, loved to play the slots at the Casino and always seemed to win, Loved the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Blackhawks – actually just loved Chicago in general, and more than anything….she was an AVID walker.

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Deacon John Lammers officiating. Visitation with the family was from 2:30 P.M. until time of service.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, 10:00 A.M. at St Benedict’s Parish located at 2215 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618 with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
