Mrs. Maxine Searcy, age 93 of Portland, TN passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Portland, TN.
Mrs. Searcy was born September 11, 1928 in Portland, TN the daughter of the late Charlie and Hazel Hunter Freeman.
Mrs. Searcy is survived by her daughter Barbara Keen (Charles) of Portland, TN. Her son Kenny Searcy of Portland, TN. A sister Cora Mee of Ohio and a daughter-in-law Cathy Searcy of Bethpage, TN. Two granddaughters Lori Cutrell of Gallatin, TN, and Christy Jennings of Portland, TN. Five grandsons Chris Keen of Portland, TN, Jeremy Searcy (Kristin) of Hendersonville, TN, Jason Searcy (Kristin) of Portland, TN, Josh Searcy (Lauren) of Portland, TN, and Brandon Searcy of Portland, TN along with 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hayden Searcy. A son Michael Hayden Searcy and a daughter Patsy Alderson along with one brother and two sisters.
Maxine, well known as Granny Searcy, to so many at the Portland gym, loved the kids that she got to watch grow up and the love that they showed in return. She will be missed so much but we know that this is not goodbye, just see you a little later.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 18, 2021 at Restlawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Chris Keen, Jeremy Searcy, Jason Searcy, Josh Searcy, Brandon Searcy, and L.P. Summer.
