Mary Frances (McCormick) Hopper, age 91, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Frances was the daughter of the late Vester Gaines and Lillie Patterson Williams McCormick of Hermitage, TN.
She graduated from Donelson High School, Class of 1948. On June 18, 1948 Frances married her high school sweetheart Jack Hopper and they were married for 67 years.
Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family and delighted in having them for meals and preparing their favorite dishes. Frances decorated cakes and catered weddings for many years. After retiring from the cake business, she started doing oil painting, was an accomplished artist, and loved giving paintings to family and friends. After Jack retired, they spent winters in Okeechobee, Florida, where she painted while she fished. Frances will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Jack, the love of her life, her parents, son; Steve Hopper, brothers; Tom McCormick, Bob McCormick, and Jack McCormick; sisters Lois Zeller and Barbara Rigsby.
Frances is survived by sons; Ron Hopper (Jayne), Bart Hopper (Cathy); brothers Doug McCormick (Lois), Jim McCormick (Karen); daughter in law Pam Hopper; nine grandchildren Ronnie Lynn (Lindsay), William (Amber), Jennifer (Eric), Wade (Maria), Shannon, Justin, Melissa (Brian), Alex (Travis), Ashton (James); nine great-grandchildren; Sydney, Lauren, Hollis, Kellan, Daniel, Dylan, Mason, Dylan James, and Bella.
A service to celebrate Frances’s life be held at 12pm on the afternoon of Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Paul Bendickson officiating and family and friends will serve as pallbearers, and interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on the afternoon of Friday, March 4, 2022 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and visitation will be again one hour prior to the start of the service. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
