Mary Elizabeth Mangrum, a beloved member of the community, passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 83.

She was born on December 24, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee, to her parents James and Mattie Caldwell.

Mary was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to her family. She had a gentle spirit and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mary’s proudest accomplishments in life were centered around her faith and her role as a loving grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her love for God was evident in everything she did, and she found great joy in being a part of her church community.

Mary also had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She served as a loving caregiver to them and took great pride in watching them grow. Her nurturing nature left a lasting impact on their lives, and she will forever be remembered as a dedicated and loving grandmother.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Mangrum, as well as her daughters Leigh Majors and Sandra Foster, and her grandchildren Elizabeth Morrison and Ty Dotson.

She is survived by her two sons, Leonard “Bubba” (Tonya) Mangrum Jr. and James (Theresa) Mangrum. Her sister, Margaret Scott. Mary’s grandchildren – K.C., Jenny, Jamie, Jason, Josh, Daniel, Michael, and Johnathan – were always the light of her life. Additionally, she leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren who will carry on her memory with love.

The services to honor Mary’s life will be held at Crestview Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation located at 1623 Hwy 109 N in Gallatin, Tennessee. The visitation service is scheduled for October 25, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Another visitation will take place on October 26, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on the same day at 2:00 PM. All events will be held at Crestview Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation. Mary’s impact on the lives of those who knew her will never be forgotten. Her kind and loving spirit touched the hearts of many, and her legacy of faith and family will continue to inspire all who remember her.
