Jean Wooddy, 94, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on December 9, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kyle M. Yates Sr. and Margaret Sharp Yates, brother Kyle Yates, Jr., sister Ellen Yates Tanner, and her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Wooddy.

She is survived by daughters, Margaret Ellen Wooddy, Laura Mae (John) Ore & Martha (Ray) Minardi; grandson, Kyle Minardi; several nieces & nephews, and extended family.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, she met the man who would become her husband while he was a student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She graduated from Blue Mountain College in three years, married Robert, and they started their lives together. She enjoyed her role as a pastor’s wife, serving alongside her husband in several pastorates. She was a loving wife, mother, and follower of Jesus Christ. She not only taught people about the love of Jesus Christ through words but also through living a life that reflected her relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 23 at Indian Lake Peninsula Church (formerly Bluegrass Baptist Church) in Hendersonville with Reverend Bill Overstreet and Reverend Mike Mayo officiating.
