Mrs. Irene Withers Moss of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, she was 85 years old.
Mrs. Moss was born January 15, 1937 in Gallatin to the late Rufus Cofield Withers and Elizabeth Katherine Gorham Withers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, John Clarence “JC” Moss; daughter, Pamela Kay Gregory; and siblings, Ruth Withers, Jake Withers, Margaret Jones, Allene Wade, Robert Withers, Earl Withers, Florencie “Tonsie” Fuqua, Betty Fuqua, and Sammy Withers.
She is survived by daughters, Penelope Lea Browning (Terry) of Gallatin and Patricia Gail Womack (David) of Gallatin; twin sister, Florene Gregory of Gallatin; sisters, Barbara Hobdy of Portland, Marylin Gregory of Gallatin, Nell Bruce (Russell) of Gallatin, and Virginia “Jenny” Fuqua of Cottontown; brothers, William” Dee” Withers of Hendersonville and Benny Withers (Diane) of Castalian Springs; 7 grandchildren, Laura Beth Merritt, Justin Merritt (Brittainy), Michelle Coughlin (Craig), Jason Moss (Desiree), Kevin Browning, Josh Womack, and Stacey Highers (Ethan); and 11 great-grandchildren, Jack Corbin Merritt, Amelia Merritt, Lane Coughlin, Sloane Coughlin, Jacob Moss, Julian Moss, Anna Womack, Abby Womack, Jackson Highers, Bryson Highers, and Grayson Highers.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, May 9th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 10th from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Jason Moss, Kevin Browning, Josh Womack, Ethan Highers, Julian Moss, and Justin Merritt serving as pallbearers.
