Georges Alain Bean, age 70, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on March 14, 2024.
Georges was born on July 24, 1953 to the late Wilhelm Kohler and Julienne Duchêne in Salon, France.
Georges pursued a vibrant career path that reflected his creativity and hard work. He was a school-trained baker and chef. He was also a design landscaper for the city of Mannheim, Germany, where his innovative ideas blossomed for an impressive 27 years. In his later years, Georges worked at Lowe’s Garden Center and as a door greeter at Sam’s Club.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Georges dedicated part of his life to serving in the German Army working with the United States Forces.
Georges’s spirit of adventure knew no bounds, as evidenced by his love for travel. During their free time while living in Europe, Georges and John could be found on a train, traveling to see their family and friends throughout Germany and France. Georges also enjoyed traveling in the United States, especially to the warm beaches of Florida. His passion for pets added warmth to his life, showcasing his compassionate nature.
Georges came with John to the United States in 2013. Georges loved the lake and being around it, so he and John decided to settle down in Hendersonville, the city by the lake, and often enjoyed staycations.
Georges had a deep love for his home country of France and a piece of his heart always remained there.
In addition to his parents, Georges is preceded in death by his three brothers and two sisters; his beloved dogs, Eli and Apollo; and cat of 22 years, Kentucky Wildcat.
Georges is survived by his spouse, John David “JD” Bean; his service dog, Chaos; his dog, Nash; his cats, Ruby and KC; his sisters, Edith (Karl), Lilli (Reinhard), and Rosie (Herman); his many nieces and nephews in Germany and France; his chosen family; and a plethora of friends who loved him.
Georges’s family would like to give thanks to the Staff of Vanderbilt Dialysis Clinic East and the Staff of Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to Tennessee Donate Life in Georges’s honor.
