Easter Jean Thurman was born on February 7, 1953. She was born to Edna Boykins (Samuel) and the late Hubert Earl Scharklet Sr and passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, she was 69 years old.
She leaves her husband James D. Thurman; two sons- Michael D. Padgett (Stephanie Smith) and Joshua (Portia) Thurman; stepdaughter- Ursula Thurman Babb (David); Grandchildren- Kiersten Padgett, SeQuanna Alexander and David Babb; Great-grandchildren (Julianna and Daren); sisters- Earlean (David) Atkins, Jessie Stevenson, Melba Crocker (Larry), Roslind Bryan (Keith); brothers, Hubert Scharklet Jr. (Sharon), James Scharklet (Faye Nan), Robert Scharklet (Sherry); and a host of nephews, nieces, and brother-in-law Howard Thurman (Paulette).
Easter was employed by Shoals for 11 years before retiring in 2019. She loved her Shoals family! Easter was a devoted member of Grace Tabernacle Christian Center where she served on the food committee. She loved her pastor Rev. Juan Rodriguez and First Lady Minister Marilyn Rodriguez and her church family. We loved her but God loved her more. She was surrounded by her family and siblings in her last moments.
Funeral service for Mrs. Thurman will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 at Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in Portland.
Visitation for Mrs. Thurman will be on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm (service time) at Grace Tabernacle Chrisitan Center in Portland, TN.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery.
