Mr. Causey C. “Butch” Cockcroft, age 78 of Portland, TN died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at TriStar ER in Portland, TN.
Mr. Cockcroft was born September 18, 1942 in Leesburg, FL the son of the late Causey Charles Cockcroft Sr. and Lela Belle Pilgrim Cockcroft.
Mr. Cockcroft is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Dianne Cockcroft. Three sons; Greg Cockcroft and Charles D. Cockcroft both of Florida and Brian Crockcroft of Orlinda, TN. Three daughters; Lynda Elder (Kenny) of Mascot, FL, Bobbie D. Perry (John) of Portland, TN, and Beverly Albor (David) of Chesapeake, VA. A brother Robert Cockcroft of Florida and a sister Sue Randolph of Portland, TN. Several grandchildren including Paul and William Cockcroft, Paige and Andrea Starr along with Dillon and Aidan Albor as well as several great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Causey was preceded in death by a brother Holland Cockcroft and two sisters Thelma Baetzlaff and Muriel Decker. Butch was a member of Victory Chapel Church in Portland, TN. He was a veteran United States Army where he retired after 24 years of service to his country.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Military rites will be held at the graveside on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Victory Chapel Church 800 N. Broadway Portland, TN 37148. Pallbearers will be Paul Cockcroft, William Cockcroft, Brian Cockcroft, John Perry, Cleveland Jackson, and Ed Flatt.
