Bobby Harold Little, Sr., 88 of Portland, TN., passed Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Little was born November 6, 1935 in Lewisburg, TN. to the late James Willis Little and Olive Virginia Fagan.
Along with his parents, Mr. Little was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Ann Clark Little; six brothers, a sister; sons, Bobby H. Little, Jr. and Donald Terry Little.
Mr. Little is survived by his daughters, Vicki L. Goff(Mike) of Morristown, Tn. and Virginia “Jenny” Little of Portland; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Norris “PeeWee” Clark of Springfield, Tn.; many nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Lynn Gregory.
Mr. Little had many achievements in his life, he attended Cumberland High in Nashville, served in the United States Army, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, and was an educator for over 40 years. In those forty years, he was a classroom teacher at Portland Junior High School, a librarian in which the library at J.W. Wiseman Elementary is named after him, he was the assistant principal and Portland Jr. High School, a supervisor for central office at Sumner County Schools, and retired as principal at Portland Middle School.
Funeral service for Mr. Little was on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1 p.m. with Don Curry officiating. There was a visitation on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time. https://www.wilkinsonwiseman.com
Following the service, interment will be in Sherron Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers, will be Terry Goff, Matt Brown, Wally Gilliam, Greyson Campbell, Scott Mulligan and Dale Wix.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the J.W. Wiseman Elementary School Library, 922 South Broadway, Portland, TN. 37148.
