Amy Jo Stone, age 63 of Portland passed away Sunday evening March 3, 2024 at Portland Medical Center.
She was born August 14, 1960 in Gallatin, TN to Homer & Elizabeth Bush Carter, Jr.
She worked as a custodian for Wal-Mart before becoming disabled. She enjoyed cooking, canning and swimming. She was a true homemaker and loved caring for her home and her family more than anything else.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Milton Stone, Portland, TN; son, Cleo (Stephanie) Stone, Goodlettsville, TN; daughter, Julie Kirkham, Bowling Green, KY; brothers, Wayne and Jeff; sisters, Kim, Carolyn, Brenda, Peggy and Sheila; 6 grandchildren, Carley, Lynna’d, Cadence, Bryson, Bransen and Brayden; her beloved pin pin, Sophie.
Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2 pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Tuesday, March 12, 2024 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks for donations to be made to Austin & Bell to help with funeral expenses.
