Nashville Soccer Club has acquired forward Zidane Yañez from New York City FC in exchange for $50,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money. Who Is Zidane Yañez
Born in Union, New Jersey on January 26, 2008, Yañez began his youth career with the New York Red Bulls Academy before moving to New York City FC’s Academy in 2021. At just 15 years old, he signed a Homegrown Player contract with NYCFC and went on to appear in six matches for NYCFC II in MLS NEXT Pro, registering one assist. He made his Huntsville City debut on July 12, logging 11 minutes as a substitute against Philadelphia Union II.
Yañez’s International Career with Chile
Yañez represents Chile on the international stage, with nine goals in 22 appearances across the country’s youth sides. He most recently competed in the U17 World Cup and U17 South American Championship, scoring one goal in each competition. Earlier in his career, he represented Puerto Rico at the U15 level and received a call-up to a U.S. U16 training camp in 2023.
Transaction Details and Contract Terms
Nashville SC acquires Yañez in exchange for $50,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money. NYCFC can receive up to $225,000 in additional GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met and retains a percentage of any future transfer or trade. Yañez is signed to his existing Homegrown Player contract through December 31, 2028, with an option for 2029.
