The Hendersonville High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC) program celebrates a year of extraordinary accomplishments, characterized by outstanding achievements in leadership, service, and competition.

The highlights of the program’s achievements during the 2023-2024 academic year include:

  • National Recognition: The Department of the Navy and Headquarters Marine Corps honored HHS MCJROTC with the distinction of Naval Honors School for the fifth time in six years, underscoring the program’s commitment to excellence in community service, extracurricular involvement, and academic achievement. This distinguishes Hendersonville High School as one of the best overall programs in the country. Selection criteria for this award compares community service hours, extracurricular involvement, Drill team, Rifle team, Leadership and Academic team, and Raider team results. Additionally, the requirements for selection include academic achievement, scholarship value and a full 2-day program inspection by the Regional Director. Remarkably, this is the 5th time in the last 6 years that HHS has been selected for this distinction.
  • Raider Team: The Raider Team achieved historic success, emerging as the 2023-2024 Service National Champions, a testament to their dedication, resilience, and teamwork. The competition was held in the mountains of Boswell, PA.
  • Rifle Team: With another top 10 finish nationally, the Rifle team concluded its best season in the program’s 24-year history, culminating in participation in the Service National Marksmanship Championships held in Salt Lake City, UT.
