Camp Mansker provides a fun-filled opportunity to explore Tennessee History thru games, activities, crafts, and music. This camp is for grades 3rd – 7th and the price is $80 per student. Camp runs from 9 am – 12 pm, Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23 and is held at the Historic Mansker’s Station.
Monday – The First Tennessean at Work and Play
Students will explore ancient tools and forecast their usage based on shape and size
Tuesday- More Than Moccasins
Students will be introduced to various aspects of the American Indian way of life
Wednesday – Tennessee Frontier Life
Students will compare frontier life with life today and explore differences in clothing, games, and trades
Thursday- Survival on the Frontier
Students will learn to navigate with a compass, start a fire, and basic knot tying
Friday- Food History
Students will cook on an open fire and discuss food items developed in Tennessee
