The Arts & Business Council, Blackbird Media, and F&M Bank have teamed up to present the Artist of the Week on The Nashville Sign. This week it is featuring Ruth Chase, an artist living and working in Hendersonville. The work is displayed through Sunday, September 18.

Ruth Chase is a multimedia artist whose work speaks to the value of people to their community—working with themes of belonging, visibility, and what it means to be a human. The three paintings exhibited are from her painting series BLUR. Ruth also works in video, and public art, focusing on social engagement. Since moving to Hendersonville, Ruth has opened her studio to the public and welcomes visitors.

“I am so excited to live in Sumner County and look forward to participating in the art scene here. Nashville may be groovy, but Sumner County has a long history of artists who started their careers here and brought some of the world’s finest music Tennessee has to offer into the world. Living in Hendersonville is nurturing as an artist; the nature and the generosity of spirit here are ingredients for inspiring art work.”

The Nashville Sign is located at 1616 Broadway, Nashville, at the Broadway/West End split, gateway to Midtown Nashville.
