Virginia Ruth (Jenny Ruth) Dorris, age 75 of Hendersonville, TN passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Gallatin Health & Rehab.
She was born in Greenbrier, TN on June 16, 1946 to the late William Hugo (Sr) and Margaret Stubblefield Elliott.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Ray Dorris, Sr; brothers, Donald Elliott, Bobby Elliott, Charles Elliott, Jerry Elliott; sisters, Nancy Elliott Markham and Betty Elliott Fry.
She is survived by sons; Carlos Ray Dorris, Jr of Hendersonville, John (Elizabeth)Dorris of Hendersonville; brothers, Billy (Cheryl) Elliott of Hendersonville, Jimmy (Jean) Elliott of Henryetta, OK; sister, Dorothy (Bill) Traughber of Lafayette, TN; grandchildren, Daphne Dorris and Della Dorris.
She was a homemaker and loved her family very much. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, raising flowers, and having a garden.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Friday, March 11th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Bill & Dot Traughber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, March 10th and 10 am until the hour of service at 11 am on Friday, March 11th at the funeral home.
