Susan Hite Patey passed away at her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee on Monday, July 25, 2022, she was 93 years old.
Born in Nashville, Susan grew up in Goodlettsville and graduated from George Peabody Demonstration School. She had an early career in bookkeeping and was a housewife, mother, and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville for many years. She loved to travel and entertain; was known for her beautiful needlework; and enjoyed books, antiques, and gardening.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Patey, and daughters Laura Finnin and Jennifer McBride.
She is survived by stepdaughters Roberta Willis, Patrecia Zebrowski (John), and Camellia Patey; her sister Patty Hite Criddle (Charles Smith); grandchildren Janie Finnin and Nathan Finnin (Kaitlin); two great-grandchildren; and a nephew and many nieces.
The family would like to thank Susan’s caring friends Linda Polston and Peggy Haynes, her kind neighbors, many friends, and all the people at Caris Healthcare Hospice and Home Instead for their love and support.
