Ronald R. (Ron) Roedel
March 8, 1966 – March 12, 2026
Lansing, Kansas – Ronald R. (Ron) Roedel, born on March 8, 1966 in Independence, Missouri, passed away in Lansing, Kansas on March 12, 2026 after a courageous 14-year battle with colon cancer. He was the beloved son of Virgil Lee Roedel and Carolyn Kay (Colovin) Roedel.
Ronald dedicated more than a decade of his life to serving in the Army. After his military service, he continued his career as an Air Traffic Controller for the Department of the Army, a position he held for 20 years until his retirement in 2020.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, and his first wife, Misti M. (Jennings/Wilkey) Roedel. He is survived by his wife, Terry Lee Johnston of the home. He also leaves behind his children: Cody Blaine (Blair) Roedel of Hendersonville, Tennessee; Mikhail Keith (Jennifer) Roedel of Ruston, Louisiana; and Harley Brooke (Kalen) Brummett of Hugoton, Kansas; his stepchild, TJ (Kurt) Coyle of Lansing, Kansas. His legacy extends to his cherished granddaughters, Eleanor Rose Roedel, Katie Scarlet-McInnis Broadus, and Margaret Evelyn Coyle.
Ronald was an Eagle Scout, an avid woodworker, and his craftsmanship brought joy to many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Luke’s Hospice House.
A celebration of life will be held at the Davis Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
