Mr. Rodney ‘Col.’ Sanders of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, he was 73 years old.

Mr. Sanders was born in Battle Creek, Michigan.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Martin; and son, Greg Sanders.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Marilyn Williamson Sanders of Gallatin; son, Michael Sanders of Clarksville; daughters, Misty Johnson (Russ) of Clarksville and Tiffany Dowker (Sean) of Clarksville; 4 grandchildren, Brook Huffaker, Ryleigh Dowker, Courtney Dowker, and Madden Dowker; and fur baby, Bandit.

Mr. Sanders retired from the United States Army as a Green Beret after over 20 years of service to our country. He later retired from the State of Tennessee. Mr. Sanders was a founder and a coach of Little League Green Wave Football. He was a fan of Nascar and Dale Earnhardt, Sr, and loved gardening.

Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be Thursday, March 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Jerry Peace officiating and family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be at Family Heritage Funeral Home Thursday, March 10th from 11:00 a.m. until time to leave for the cemetery.
