OBITUARY: Robert Dale Boyd

Mr. Robert Dale Boyd, age 73, of Portland, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at The Waters of Gallatin in Gallatin, TN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service will be held the same day, Friday, October 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue after the funeral service until 8:00 PM. Cremation will follow after the visitation.

Dale was born on April 11, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Gilbert Ewing Boyd and the late Dorthy Sue (Ausbrooks) Johnson. He is also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Dale Boyd two siblings, Billy Boyd and Mike Boyd.

He is survived by his two children, Lori Snook (Brian) of Portland, TN and Leslie Irizarry (Robert) of Fairview, TN; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Stewart, Christin Carney (Chris), Brice Snook, Micah Thornton (Katie), Morgan Thornton, McKenzie Thornton and Zoey Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Cace Carney, Camdyn Carney, Nolan Snook, Madison Wilson, Carson Wilson, Jace Campbell, Anakin Blake and Arlo Blake; ten siblings, Gilbert “Randy” Boyd (Reba), Wanda Borgs (Rudi), Judy Brown (Rick), Bonny Carrier (Chip), Betty Sodagar (Hamid), Joey Boyd (Kathy), Pam Foriest (Ron), Mark Boyd, Donna McMillin (Jim) and Dottie Young (Mark).

Robert attended Spencer High School in Spencer, IN. He was a retired truck driver from JNJ Express. Robert was of Christian faith. He enjoyed carpentry and upholstery and could build anything with his hands. Robert loved his pets.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory to help with his final expenses. Address is 325 W. Cedar St. Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
