OBITUARY: Reina Shannon Smith

Reina Shannon Smith, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 48. Her passing was unexpected and subsequent to a stroke just two weeks prior.

Reina was a Nashville native born on July 1, 1975. She attended Hendersonville High School and was married on January 8, 2008 to her husband, Chris Smith.

Reina enjoyed being outdoors, in the sun, swimming, tattoos, all things Halloween, four letter words, and spending time with those she loved. She worked in Veterinary Clinics for over 10 years, making friends wherever she went with her irrepressible personality, laugh and infectious energy. She was fun, loud, loyal and a one of a kind friend. Unapologetically, she was who she was, and everyone loved her even more for it!

Above all, however, Reina loved and treasured her boys. Being Kody and Taye’s Mom was what she loved the most. She was a passionate Football and Rugby Mom, cherishing each game, every year. They filled her heart with so much pride and joy that anyone could see!

She will be deeply missed and survived by her husband, Christopher Ray Smith; her sons, Kody Austin Burr and Taye Owen Smith; her mother, Karen Lee Killen; her sister, Tina Elaina Williams; and so many others who loved her dearly.

The visitation to honor and celebrate Reina Smith’s life was held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075).
