J. Ross “Joe” Konkle, Jr., age 82, passed away on April 28, 2023.
He was born on September 3, 1940 in Turbotville, Pennsylvania to the late Gladys Konkle and J Ross Konkle, Sr.
Joe is also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Snyder; and grandson, John Robert Konkle.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mille Konkle; son, J Ross Konkle, III (Shannon); grandchildren, Caroline Konkle and Ross Konkle; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Milton High School in Milton, Pennsylvania. Joe proudly attended the Penn State business certificate program. He loved the outdoors, especially working in his yard and gardening. Joe counted the days until Penn State football began. He was also a fan of the Eagles and the Phillies.
Joe enjoyed tending to his truck, “Clyde”, bowling, and going to the beach on the Jersey Shore. After retirement, Joe began working at Publix where he loved to serve customers and joke with them. He was well loved by his co-workers and customers.
Joe’s greatest joy was being Pap Pap to his grandchildren, Scootie and Beanie, being a father to Joey, and a devoted husband to Millie.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Rector officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
