OBITUARY: H.C. Caudill


H.C. Caudill, age 92, passed away on March 12, 2024.

He was born on September 12, 1931 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late Mayme Pendleton and Hilary Cleve Caudill.

H.C. is also preceded in death by his siblings, Howard, Paul, Viva, and Judd.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nancy Caudill; son, Tim Caudill (Gina); daughter, Kim Deering (Billy); grandchildren, Adam Caudill, Chase Caudill, Konstance Carlisle (Blake), Samantha Cordes (AJ), and Nolan Deering; great-grandchildren, Kannon Carlisle and Krew Carlisle; brother, Jerry Caudill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

H.C. proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army. After 35 years of serving in the grocery industry, H.C. retired as District Manager. During his time with Winn-Dixie, H.C. was honored to receive a correspondence diploma from Cornell University. However, his retirement was short-lived. He and Nancy began participating at the Nashville Flea Market selling decorative ribbon.

H.C. had compassion and love for animals. He enjoyed racing and Titans football. H.C. will be remembered for being stern but fair, his gift of gab, and his immense love for his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Funeral Service immediately following at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sumner County Humane Association.
