Freddie Irvin Skinner, Sr., age 76, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Freddie was born on February 11, 1947 in Fairfield, Michigan to the late Ralph and Mary Skinner.

Fred was in the Army, and was also a factory worker, a lawn keeper, security guard, and a meat smoker for Top Hog. He took good pride in his work, especially woodwork and clockmaking.

He was known as a devoted husband to the love of his life, whom he cherished and loved with all his heart for 45 years.

Fred always had jokes and a sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing. He was a collector of a variety of stuff, coins, knives, eagles, and Coca-Cola stuff.

He liked the Tennessee Titans. He liked working on cars, lawnmowers, weed eaters, washer and dryers, and painting interiors and exteriors. Along with spending time with his brother, Roy, and sister-in-law, Judy Skinner. He enjoyed drinking coffee and playing cards. He also enjoyed cookouts and holiday dinners.

He was loved by everyone.

In addition to his parents and siblings, Freddie is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Skinner, and daughter, Angela Skinner.

Freddie is survived by his 6 kids, Freddie Skinner, Jr. (Ardissa), Tracy Younglove (Roger), Mikel Skinner, Tina Stepke (Jerry), Monica Piece (Timmy), and Billy Skinner; 16 grandkids; 15 great-grandkids; brother, Roy Skinner (Judy); along with several nieces and nephews; and 2 animal companions, Ben (bird) and Oscar (dog).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 11 am – 1 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Funeral service will be held at 1 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Burial will follow at Hartsville Cemetery at 3 pm. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com

Pallbearers will be Mikel Skinner, Billy Skinner, Justin Skinner, Joseph “Joey” Skinner, Matthew Pierce, and Adam Skinner.
