Evelyn “Lorene” Overton, age 89, of Bethpage, Tennessee, passed away at Sumner Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

She was born in Scottsville, Kentucky to parents, Arthur and Virgie Lambert, on November 18th, 1933.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lambert and Virgie Lambert, her first husband, Lloyd Graves, her second husband, Jack Overton Sr., and her daughter, Vickie Overton. Lorene is survived by her children, Marcella (Stan) Weese, Jack (Angela) Overton Jr., and Andrea (Rik) Harding.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandy Weese, Tiffany (Steven) Withrow, Christina Overton, and Matthew (Zena) Harding, as well as two great-grandchildren, Alaze Castro, and Aidan Overton.

It was said that Lorene Overton was an affectionate and caring woman. She was born in Scottsville, Kentucky but spent most of her life in Middle Tennessee. She grew up as a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, and in adulthood became a member of the Bethpage United Methodist Church.

She loved to sew and crochet. Making quilts and clothing for her family members was just one of the ways that Lorene showed them her love. It has been said that she was always a seamstress at heart. She loved reading and gardening when she was able to. Lorene also loved to go antiquing, she liked to collect old baskets to decorate the walls of her home with.

She had a love of old country music and was an avid listener of the Grand Ole Opry when they played on the radio. Although she is gone, she is not forgotten.

A visitation will be held at Crestview Funeral Home & Cremation Center and Memory Gardens on Friday, May 26th, 2023, from 4 pm until 7 pm. Then on Saturday, May 27th, 2023, from 11 am until 1 pm we will have a visitation, with a service starting at 1 pm. Burial to follow at Crestview Memory Gardens.
