Charles (Charlie) Russell Sharp, age 97, of Cottontown, Tennessee passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024.

He was born on January 15, 1927 in Nashville, TN.

A pharmacist for more than 50 years, Mr. Sharp and his wife Julia moved to Hendersonville, TN in 1953 where he was co-owner and operator of Hendersonville Drug Company for 25 years. Following that he worked at pharmacies in Sumner and Macon Counties including Swaney Swift Drugs on the Square in Gallatin, TN.

At an early age, Mr. Sharp developed a love for life on the farm. He realized a life-long dream when he purchased a farm in Cottontown after retirement from the pharmacy.

He was a graduate of Issac Litton High School in East Nashville and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II.

Mr. Sharp was a member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church for more than 70 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Julia Braly Sharp, daughter Patricia Kincheloe Lenker, parents Tom C. Sharp, Sr. and Sina Russell Sharp, brother Tom C. Sharp, Jr. and sister-in-law Evelyn Holman Sharp, and his son-in-law, Randall Tatum.

Mr. Sharp is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Sharp Tatum, grandchildren Chuck Kincheloe (Allie), Julie Kincheloe (Beau), Rusty Tatum (Lacy) and Chris Tatum (Sarah), 13 great-grandchildren, niece Marilyn Sharp Webster (Tom) and nephew Tom Sharp (Jennifer).

The family would like to thank the staff of Charter Senior Living in Gallatin and White House Healthcare and Rehabilitation for their excellent care.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10 to 11 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville, TN. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, TN. https://www.sumnerfuneral.com
