Billy Ray Barrett, 75 of Portland, Tn., passed Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his residence; he was born November 17, 1947 to the late J.B. Barrett and Betty Jane (Harris) in Bethpage, Tn.
Along with his parents, Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his brothers, Lillard Barrett, Garland Barrett and Stephen Barrett; sisters, Lucille Robertson, Betty Scruggs and Lois Dean Summners.
Mr. Barrett is survived by his wife, Lallie Faye Poole Barrett; children, Kristy Barrett Gregory(Anthony), Ray Barrett, Stevie Barrett, Robbie Barrett Calvert(Bobby); grandchildren, Jessie Calvert, Emily Barrett, Sierra Barrett Silvy(Cameron), Nathan Barrett, Erynn Barrett, Dylan Barrett and Janera Manning; step-grandchildren, A.J. Gregory, Jaden Gregory, Bentley Gregory and Bayleigh Gregory; great-granddaughter, Braelee Faye Silvy; sister, Mary Spivey(Eldon); brother in law, Carl Poole(Deanie); sister in law, Candy Barrett and Carol Phillips; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Mr. Barrett was on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home with Mike Whittaker officiating, with visitation on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 9 a.m. until service time of 1 p.m. https://www.wilkinsonwiseman.com
Following the service interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jessie Calvert, Dylan Barrett, Nathan Barrett, Cameron Silvy, Anthony Gregory and Yamarion Fitts with Bobby Calvert serving as honorary pallbearer.
Our Daddy and Pa was a hard working Christian man. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing blue grass gospel music. He loved his family and took pride in being a husband, father, pa brother and friend.
