Barbara Harpster Ellis, age 92, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at her home in FL.
Mrs. Ellis was born July 4, 1932 in Santa Maria, TX to the late Wallace Harpster and Opal Ogelsby Harpster.
She graduated from high school in Edinburgh, TX and received her nursing degree (Registered Nurse) from the Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. Mrs. Ellis married Joseph Newlin Ellis on September 17, 1955 and they remained together for 65 years until his passing on April 22, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Ramert, and sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and Bill Neal.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Pati” Ellis; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Eileen Harpster; brother-in-law, Robert Ramert; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, September 4th in the Oakland Cemetery with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.
