OBITUARY: Virginia Sewell Harper Atkins

Mrs. Virginia Sewell Harper Atkins, age 85, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Westmoreland Care and Rehab.

Funeral services for Virginia Atkins are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2 PM from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Ronnie Whittemore officiating. Interment will follow in The Lafayette City Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 12 PM until service time at 2 PM.

Virginia was preceded in death by her Husband, Thomas Atkins; Son, Larry Edward Harper; Parents, Ray Sewell and Leora Cox Sewell; Brothers, William Allen Sewell and Paul Louis Sewell; Sister, Dixie Sewell Cross; one step-son and three step-daughters.

Mrs. Virginia Atkins is survived by;

Martha Whittemore

Step-son,
Bruce Atkins

Step-daughter,
Judy Gammons and husband, Donnie

Special Cousin,
Charlene Piercy

Granddaughter,
Misty Green

Step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
