Man Arrested After Threats Made to Hendersonville Medical Center

December 27, 2023 – On December 26, 2023, the Hendersonville Police Department responded to a report of a threatening message received by the security office at the Hendersonville Medical Center. Investigators learned the caller made odd comments about various things. The caller soon became frustrated with the individual he was speaking to and threatened to commit violence against people at Hendersonville Medical Center.

Hendersonville Detectives quickly identified that the call came from Oklahoma and that the phone used was still located in Oklahoma. The Hendersonville Police Department learned the caller had called another Ohio hospital before calling Hendersonville Medical Center. The Hendersonville Police Department quickly identified the suspect as Kyle Odell from Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

With extraordinary cooperation from the Lone Grove Oklahoma Police Department, the suspect was verified to be in the State of Oklahoma, and contact was made to further the investigation. On December 26, 2023, a Hendersonville Detective was able to obtain warrants charging Kyle Odell, age 45, with False Report (Threatening Violence) and Harassment.

In the early evening hours of December 26, 2023, Mr. Odell was taken into custody by members of the Lone Grove PD and Cartier County Sheriff’s Department. He will be held as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to Sumner County, TN.

As of this time, investigators have not revealed any ties between Odell and entities within the state of Tennessee. These crimes were perpetrated over a long distance, which is not a barrier to the prosecution of serious crimes in Sumner County, TN.
