The Sumner County HolidayFest Board announced that the 2023 King and Queen for HolidayFest is Tim and Debbie Watson of Hendersonville.

The crowning was held at the Chop House and “we really honored them and we could not have done it without the help from last year’s King and Queen” said Larry Phillips, President of HolidayFest. “For the past 17 years, nonprofits and community leaders nominate outstanding volunteers in our community who give tirelessly and relentlessly to see that our county is a better place.”

“It is an honor to be able to have them as our King and Queen this year” said Lynda Evjen, a founding member. This year over 16 nominations came to the HolidayFest Board for consideration.

The King and Queen act as the Ambassadors of HolidayFest and they appear and attend many of the events, like the St. Nicholas Ball where they are honored and lead the dancing for the evening. They also ride in the Annual Christmas Parade with three other couples who serve as their Royal Court.

“This year the theme of the parade is ‘Sleigh Bells Ring’ and we know that they will all serve well.

This 18th year of HolidayFest will benefit over 12 charities and possibly will host over 24 events in Sumner County for 2023-2024. The first event is Christmas in July, taking place July 18 from 5pm – 9pm at First National Bank (100 Cinema Drive, Hendersonville). This event introduces the staff and mission of each of the non-profit organizations selected to benefit from this season’s HolidayFest community events. Plus, you can meet the King and Queen!

Christmas in July is free to attend but attendees are asked to RSVP by e-mailing [email protected]
