Hendersonville Fire Department responded to two separate house fires just hours apart on Sunday evening.

Fire crews were called to the first home where they were met with heavy fire, heat and smoke. After the fire was quickly contained, crews began searching and pulling ceilings as neighbors were unsure if an elderly woman was still in the home or not.

Fortunately, the woman was not inside the home at the time. However, a dog was killed in the fire.

The fire department responded to the second fire about 4 hours later where they were met with black smoke coming from the front door of the residence.

The fire was located in the kitchen and was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.
