Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, serving handcrafted ice cream since 1945, is expanding into the Tennessee market and opening its first store in Hendersonville, TN. The iconic brand is bringing their freshly made, fun-filled ice cream flavors to The Streets of Indian Lake at 300 Indian Lake Blvd. The Hendersonville Handel’s will celebrate its official grand opening with the community on Thursday, January 11, 2023. The first 100 guests will be treated to Free Ice Cream For a Year on January 11!

The Hendersonville Handel’s is led by husband-and-wife team Greg and Laura Panter. The couple have been married for nearly 25 years and have three children and two dogs that entertain them with their antics daily. Now, they have a new business venture to add to the mix.

“When we made the decision to relocate to middle Tennessee, we discovered a quaint ‘city by the lake’ and fell in love with Hendersonville. The people of Hendersonville have all been so welcoming in the past two years and we have found a supportive community both personally and professionally,” said Greg Panter, Co-owner of the Hendersonville Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream. “We are so excited to share all the amazing, high-quality treats that we quickly fell in love with in 2019 and that have made Handel’s so popular over the years.”

The new location boasts 2,593 sq. ft. and will serve up local and seasonal flavors including Black Cherry, Buckeye, Coffee Chocolate Chip, Graham Central Station, Oree-Dough, Peppermint Stick, Salty Caramel Truffle, and more. The store will offer dine-in, pickup, delivery, and catering.

The Hendersonville location will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Prior to Handel’s, Greg Panter built a career in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. He expressed that he looks forward to bringing his skills to Handel’s in-house production of fresh ice cream that is made daily. Greg is also a Jeep enthusiast and always ready for a new adventure.

Laura Panter has a professional background in business, marketing, and accounting. She’s also dedicated many years to animal rescue and supports organizations that assist people with disabilities. Laura is a foodie at heart, and enjoys creating new recipes in the kitchen for her family to enjoy.

“With the opportunity to finally put our 20-year dream into motion and have our own ‘mom & pop’ ice cream shop, Handel’s offered us a recognized brand which we also happen to be huge fans of. My husband, Greg, and I wanted to partner with a brand that provided support for success and offered a variety of homemade frozen treats,” said Laura Panter, Co-owner of the Hendersonville Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream. “Tennessee, we are excited to introduce Handel’s to Hendersonville and look forward to building a strong fan base!”
