The Tennessee Department of Education recently released its annual list of Reward Schools, which recognizes top tier schools in a comprehensive measure that includes achievement scores, growth scores, chronic absenteeism, English Learner proficiency, graduation rates, and ready graduate preparation. Students in grades 3-11 are tested each year in core subject areas that include math, social studies, and English / Language Arts.

“We are immensely proud of these 19 schools for achieving Reward School status, a testament to the dedication of each principal and our teachers, staff, students, and parents,” Dr. Scott Langford, Director of Sumner County Schools said. “By focusing on high standards of achievement, fostering growth, and building strong community connections, we are preparing our students to be truly Sumner Ready.
