James Brent Crawford, known affectionately as “Brent Dog,” was born on January 16, 1959, in Huntington Park, California, he passed away on March 22, 2024, in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Described as a great father and a caring individual almost to a fault, Brent was someone who could be trusted and relied upon by all. He had a passion for helping others and often worked on people’s cars for free, ensuring they had what they needed.

In addition to his career, Brent enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He had a deep love for blues and rock-n-roll music and cherished attending concerts.

Brent was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Crawford and his brother, Tommy Crawford.

Brent is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Crawford; son, Brian Crawford (Michelle) and daughter, Lori Woodward (Aaron); grandchildren, A.J., Charlie, Huckleberry, and Juniper; sister Jan Bowen; along with several nieces and nephews.

He touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. Brent passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Pastor Morris Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens in Gallatin.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. and on Friday, March 29th from 10:00 AM until time of service.

A few final words from Brent, “As for me, I feel I’ve had a wonderful life. I don’t have any regrets. I worked hard. I did the best I could. I tried to do all the right things. I’ll always cherish all the times we spent together. I have lasting memories I’ll carry deep in my heart, until we’re all together again. I’ll always cherish and love all of you, your friends as well. And with all that, it is finished for me…”
