Christa Theresia Maria Aloisia Nuernberger, age 79, passed away on April 9th, 2024, in Gallatin, TN.

She was born on May 5th, 1944, in Austria to her late parents, Johann and Katharina (Bogner) Riess.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Franz Nuernberger, son Franz (Velyana) Nuernberger, daughter Sabine Nuernberger, grandson Tyler Nuernberger, and granddaughter Zofia Nuernberger.

Christa is also survived by her brother Hans (Maria) Riess, niece Eva (Ronald) Franzberger, nephew Hans (Marion) Riess, great niece Dominique Franzberger, her great-nephew Robin Riess, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Christa and Franz married on March 23rd, 1973. The couple would start their family in Austria before moving to the United States for her husband’s career at Cresent Manufacturing Company. Her family remembers the day that they moved to Gallatin, Tennessee. On April 28th, 1980, Tommy Tompkins picked them up from the airport and took them to their new home.

Christa was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, who found solace and happiness in their company. She cherished every moment spent together. Her family was her world, and she dedicated herself to ensuring their well-being and happiness above all else. Those who knew Christa will remember her as a beacon of kindness and compassion. Her welcoming nature made everyone feel at ease in her presence, and she had a gift for taking care of others.

A talented cook, Christa delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her delicious dishes brought them together around the table. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she poured her love into every meal she served. Although Christa was very active in her family’s life, she became an active member of the Gallatin community. She worked as a volunteer at Sumner Academy for many years. When the academy finally created a new cafeteria, they were happy to make her a permanent employee.

Christa’s nurturing spirit touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services to honor and remember Christa will be held at the Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, TN. A Memorial Gathering will take place on May 1, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on the same day. May Christa’s soul rest in eternal peace as her legacy of love and care continues to inspire all those who were touched by her presence. https://www.alexandergallatin.com
